  1. I currently have the Mirena I.u.d. It is the second device I have had since my daughter was born 8 years ago. In fact, my recent device was inserted by Planned Parenthood when I discovered it would cost 300 out of pocket ( WITH insurance) if I went to an OB. Thankfully, they were available for me. Regular birth control pills have never meshed with my chemistry. They would throw my moods into a tailspin. I have had great success with the Mirena and highly recommend it!
