Planned Parenthood and Refinery29 are back at it again with a new, fun and informative short film about the importance of screening and preventive care.
First, Jennifer Lawrence took a fierce stance on equal pay, writing a powerful essay, which made an appearance in Lena Dunham’s newsletter Lenny that tackled the income disparities women face in the workforce. Now, she’s taken a vocal stand against the attacks on Planned Parenthood during an interview with Glamour magazine.
Each year, 2.7 million women, men and young people rely on Planned Parenthood for essential health care services like birth control, cancer screenings, STD testing and treatment and well-woman exams.
Often the first independent health care decision that a young person makes is to come to Planned Parenthood for reproductive health care. And for many women, we may be their only health care provider. We have the unique opportunity to help our patients understand the importance of preventive care.
The Planned Parenthood Vista Isabella Center, once located in a Carlsbad shopping center, opened its doors this spring in a gleaming, newly developed medical plaza just off of Highway 78. Not only does the center feature a brand new building with an open, inviting and newly designed layout, its location also lends itself to greater safety and comfort for both patients and staff.
While you’re off creating those New Year’s resolutions, we have one to add to your list: Take better care of your health with preventive screenings like a Pap test.
